"Abacela makes a vivacious, bone-dry Rosado — very Spanish — " Paul Gregutt, The Seattle Times

Winemaker's Tasting Notes

Garnacha thrives on the south-facing slopes of our estate vineyards in Southern Oregon’s Umpqua Valley. For our 2007 Rosado specific Garnacha blocks were farmed with the objective of creating this wine.

Following a brief period of skin contact the three different Garnacha clones were very lightly pressed and the fermentation concluded in stainless steel.

This wine features aromas of rose petals, cherries, pomegranates, and strawberries followed by flavors of candied cherries and raspberry jam. Bright acidity balances the reserved, unctuous mouthfeel as the dry finish and expressive minerality develop and evolve.

This subtle, fragrant wine is decidedly food-friendly and versatile in its pairing choices from blackened Salmon salad to grilled chicken Panini.
