Winemaker's Tasting Notes

The Tempranillo harvest in 2003 began in earnest with our crew busily plucking clusters of black-skinned berries in the cool early morning hours of the third week of September. The fruit’s high quality had been evident for some time and as the grapes underwent fermentation and barrel aging that quality never wavered.

During evaluation we noticed remarkable intensity in the ripe blackberry fruit, plum, licorice, jam, and leather aromas and flavors along with a pronounced mineral note on the substantial, concentrated finish. This is a wine that will surely benefit from cellaring. Decanting is recommended.

Try this bold wine with grilled chorizo and wild mushroom ragout.
