The Syrah at Abacela continues to be a big fruit driven wine full of complexities, velvety tannins and a long silky finish. This black wine has a wonderful nose filled with ripe dark fruit, rich chocolate and subtle gaminess. A touch of Viognier (3%) adds perfume to the nose and contributes to the rich mouth feel. Have this gem with anything thick, chewy or spicy. Or just savor by itself in a hedonistic, decadent manner. A wine to be aged 8-10 years, if you can stand to wait.
